During the rainy season, the standard is raised? Summer glue overflow? Winter flying beacon? It's important to do these things well!

Adhesive material is a "sandwich" structural material composed of backing paper, glue, and surface material. Due to its own characteristics, it is necessary to pay attention to the impact of environmental factors on the surface material, adhesive, backing paper, and other aspects during the use and storage of self-adhesive materials and labels. Especially during the rainy season, summer, and winter, which are prone to problems with adhesive materials, it is important to pay attention to the impact of environmental factors on adhesive materials to avoid unnecessary economic losses.

Common storage precautions for self-adhesive materials

Non drying adhesive materials need to be stored in a dry environment to avoid adverse effects such as moisture and curling caused by high humidity. The recommended storage environment for adhesive materials is 23 ℃± 2 ℃ and a relative humidity of 50% ± 5%. The complete packaging of self-adhesive materials provided by the supplier should not come into direct contact with the ground or walls during storage. The stacking height should be minimized, stored away from heat and ignition sources, and avoid direct sunlight. When using self-adhesive materials, the original packaging must not be opened in advance before leaving the warehouse. The principle of "first in, first out" must be followed, and materials returned to the warehouse must be repackaged or repackaged.

Precautions for storage, processing, and use of adhesive materials during the rainy season

The biggest characteristic of the rainy season is high air humidity, therefore, it is important to pay attention to moisture prevention when using non drying adhesive materials. Attention should be paid to: Do not open the original packaging of the adhesive material before use on the machine as much as possible; Non drying adhesive materials that are temporarily not used after unpacking, or non drying adhesive materials that need to be returned to warehouse after being unused, need to be repackaged as soon as possible; The storage and processing workshop of adhesive materials require dehumidification treatment; Processed semi-finished and finished products need to be packaged in a timely manner, and the packaging of finished product labels should be sealed and moisture-proof.

When labeling during the rainy season, problems such as warping, peeling, and bubbles are most likely to occur, especially when labeling on corrugated boxes. Therefore, it is recommended not to open the packaging before labeling to avoid material deformation due to moisture; Stickers such as cardboard boxes also need to pay attention to moisture prevention to avoid problems such as wrinkling, bubbles, and detachment of labels caused by excessive moisture absorption and deformation of the cardboard boxes; Newly made corrugated cardboard boxes need to be placed for a period of time to balance their moisture content with the environment before being labeled; To ensure that the grain direction of the label is consistent with the grain direction of the corrugated cardboard box at the labeling location, and the long edge direction of the film label is consistent with the grain direction of the corrugated cardboard box at the labeling location, in order to reduce the risk of wrinkling and warping after labeling; Ensure that the labeling pressure is in place and covers the entire label position, especially the corners; The labeled cardboard boxes and other products should be stored in a closed space with low air humidity as much as possible to avoid convection with the outside humid air. After the glue flows flat, they should be transferred to outdoor circulation, storage, and transportation.
Precautions for Storage, Processing, and Use of Summer Adhesive Materials

Due to the high temperature in summer, non drying adhesive materials are prone to problems such as looseness and overflow. Therefore, when storing self-adhesive materials in summer, it is necessary to first consider the expansion coefficient of the self-adhesive material, because the "sandwich" structure of the self-adhesive label material makes it have a higher expansion coefficient in high-temperature and high humidity environments than any single-layer structure of paper or film materials.

When storing adhesive materials in summer, the following principles should be followed: (1) The temperature of the warehouse storing adhesive materials should not exceed 25 ℃ as much as possible, preferably around 23 ℃. It is particularly important to note that the humidity in the warehouse should not be too high, and should be kept below 60%; (2) The inventory time of adhesive materials should be minimized as much as possible, strictly following the "first in, first out" principle, which means using materials that entered the warehouse earlier and then using adhesive materials that entered the warehouse later.

In addition, during summer labeling, it is also important to note that if the ambient temperature for labeling is too high, it can increase the fluidity of the adhesive, leading to adhesive overflow, adhesive accumulation on the labeling machine guide roller, and possible problems such as poor labeling, labeling deviation, wrinkling, etc. Therefore, the temperature at the labeling site should be controlled around 23 ℃ as much as possible. In addition, due to the good fluidity of adhesive in summer, the leveling speed of self-adhesive label adhesive is also much faster than other seasons. Therefore, for products that need to be re labeled after labeling, the shorter the time to remove the label from the labeling time, the easier it is to remove and replace it.
Precautions for storage, processing, and use of winter adhesive materials

The temperature is very low in winter, and the stickiness of self-adhesive materials has the characteristic of weakening with lower temperatures. The problems encountered in daily production such as adhesive non stickiness, flying marks, and falling marks are all related to temperature. Therefore, when storing self-adhesive materials in winter, it is necessary to pay attention to the environmental temperature not being too low, as too low a temperature can reduce the viscosity of the adhesive, leading to problems such as poor printing, die cutting flying marks, as well as strip flying marks and falling marks during processing, which affects the smooth processing of the materials. Especially when non drying adhesive materials are placed outdoors or in cold environments, it is easy to cause material, especially the adhesive part, to be frostbitten. If they are not properly heated and kept warm, the stickiness and processing performance of the non drying adhesive material will be lost or even lost. Therefore, it is necessary to do appropriate heating treatment before processing to ensure that the material temperature returns to around 23 ℃.

In addition, when labeling self-adhesive materials in winter, it should also be noted that the environmental temperature for labeling should meet the requirements of the product. Before labeling, the self-adhesive label material needs to be reheated and insulated to ensure that the temperature of the self-adhesive label material and the surface of the object being labeled returns to above the minimum allowable labeling temperature of the material. The minimum labeling temperature for self-adhesive products mentioned here refers to the minimum environmental temperature that can be used for labeling operations. In addition, the pressure of labeling should be appropriately increased to ensure sufficient contact and bonding between the adhesive and the surface of the object being labeled. At the same time, the finished product should be avoided from being placed in an environment with a large temperature difference for a short time as much as possible. It is recommended to transfer it after 24 hours.
